Boundaries impact everything that we do.
And although it may feel like a wellness “buzz” word that we can’t escape, I hope we never do, because when we have healthy boundaries it’s game-changing for us and our relationships.
Most people want to focus on the boundaries we set with others. It can be easy to point our attention to what other people are doing to us that we don’t like. These boundaries are INCREDIBLY important and set the tone for how our relationships function, so I’m not saying we should ignore them. If we want healthy relationships, we’ll need healthy boundaries. But this isn’t the only part of boundaries.
In my book, The Sugar Jar, I also talk about self-boundaries, which are the boundaries we have with ourselves that help us treat ourselves as a priority too. An example of a self-boundary could be as simple as turning your phone off at a certain time in the evening so you can meet your goal of reading more.
