Perfectionism has been a shadow that follows me almost everywhere I go and I’m tired of it! I’ve got to break up with it…for good! Or else. Thank you for this, Yasmine.
Thanks so much for this Yasmine! I definitely needed this reminder and really appreciate that you shared you still work through this part of the creative process yourself.
you’re so welcome! and yes! 3 books in, hundreds of thousands of words written and published later, i still struggle. idk if there is ever a time that we won’t. maybe that’s how much we care? that we want it “right “? either way, we HAVE to keep going. someone is waiting for the very work we’ll create x
Thank you so much for this. I think my biggest struggle is with relevance - it feels as though everything and anything that I might write has already been said, and so much better, by other talented, knowledgeable people, so why should I bother? I don't know that my perspective is unique or would add anything meaningful to a world that is already filled with gigantic ideas and gorgeous ways of expressing them.
100% yes. Imposter syndrome every time.
every single time! it’s so hard and yet, we’ve got to keep going. hit publish friends xx
